I’ve been very fortunate to have been a full time wedding photographer in Vancouver for the last twelve years. I began my career in 2001 when I was completing my bachelor of fine arts at Emily Carr Institute (now University) of Art and Design. Although I went on to graduate studies at the University of British Columbia after my BFA, it eventually became clear that wedding photography was going to be the way forward for me to fulfill my creative potential on a professional full time basis, all the while being involved in some of the happiest occasions of life. It has been an honour to be involved with weddings from cultural traditions originating all over the world which share Vancouver as home.

Since the beginning I’ve been lucky to work alongside my partner Jules who provides a valuable second perspective. Our wedding coverage is largely documentary in approach; we are not staging a styled shoot but rather observing events and emotions unfolding. What transpires between people on a wedding day is most important. We are quiet and observant by nature but can effectively direct when needed, aligning our subjects with beautiful flattering light and allowing for natural interactions, even on a portrait shoot. My tastes in portraiture range from classic and still to dramatic and dynamic but never overproduced. Every image my clients receive is individually edited by me in a style that is organic, understated and timeless. I do not subscribe to one style or palette but instead take inspiration from my clients first and foremost and the mood and aesthetic of the day and place, aiming for elegant authenticity. I hope that as you browse my portfolios you’ll be able to not only appreciate the use of light and composition but also how good it felt like to be there.

I currently work between Vancouver and Hawaii. Please view my Maui wedding photography site as well if you may be planning a destination wedding or thinking of family photos in Maui.
